If You're Considering an EV Here are some things you should know...
Will I have to use public chargers if I buy or lease an EV?
The U.S. Department of Energy says 80% of EV charging happens at home. If you have a daily commute of less than 200 miles an electric vehicle can get you there and back without the hassle of public charging. Things like towing, a/c and heat can impact battery range just as in gas powered vehicles. So keep that in mind on your long trips. At Premier we have both Subaru and Kia New EVs along with a great selection of pre-owned EVs. Our New EVs like the Subaru Solterra or the Kia EV6 get 218 to 310 mile range on a fully charged battery. That's plenty of juice for daily travel and you might never need a public charger. Consult one of our EV Experts to see which EV is right for you!
Will an Electric Vehicle save me money?
More EVs are arriving at dealer lots than ever before! The increase in model selection and availability is driving down costs and increasing incentive offers. EverSource in CT also offers home charger installation rebates and estimated fuel savings can reach $79/mo. Studies have shown fuel costs in Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles are greater than the costs to charge an electric vehicle battery at home. You can also save maintenance costs over the life of your electric vehicle compared to an equivalent gas powered model. No oil changes are required and certain other fluid changes are no longer required with battery powered electric motors. Consult with one of our EV Experts to find out which EV is best suited for your everyday driving needs.
