2017 Branford Festival and Road Race

On Saturday, June 17, Premier Subaru and Premier Kia participated in the 33rd annual Branford Festival.  Thank you to everyone who came out and said hello to us!

Premier Subaru also was an underwriting sponsor for the Branford Road Race that took place on Sunday, June 19.   taking place on Sunday, June 18.  This is the 3rd year that Premier was an underwriter for the event.  Over 3,000 runners participated in the headline 5-Mile Race, which is one of the few of its kind in the United States.  There was also a 2-Mile Health Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run.  Proceeds went to four charities this year: the Connecticut Advocates for Parkinson's(CAP), Camp Rising Sun, Notre Dame High School, and the Connecticut Chapter of the ALS Association.

On April 5th, 2017, Bob Alvine, owner of Branford's Premier Subaru gathered his employees in their showroom and presented a check for $60,092 to Camp Rising Sun Director Shaun Heffernan. Through generous donations and the work of dedicated volunteers, Camp Rising Sun provides a carefree summer camp experience for kids who have faced a cancer diagnosis. Premier Subaru's $60,092 contribution to Camp Rising Sun was given as part of the company's annual Share the Love Event. Alvine credits his employees' hard work and dedication with making it possible, according to the release.

Premier Subaru presented a check for $50,000 to Camp Rising Sun, representing the proceeds
from the eighth annual "Share the Love" event.  Customers that purchased or leased a new Subaru
were able to make a $250 donation to one of four national charities or a fifth local "hometown
charity".  Premier Subaru had selected Camp Rising Sun to be their "Hometown Charity".

Camp Rising Sun, also hosted their 15th Annual Night Out on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, from 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. at the Owenego Inn and Beach Club, 40 Linden Ave, Branford. The Annual Night Out is the camp's largest fundraising event of the year.

Premier Subaru's donation to Camp Rising Sun was recently highlighted(July 11) on Connecticut Style.  Camp Director Shaun Heffernan recognized Premier Subaru as one of the Camp's major donors and was "shocked" at the $50,000 gift that Premier was able to provide, on top of last year's $33,000 gift.  The entire interview is available here: //

Branford, CT, March 30, 2015 - Robert J. Alvine, President, Premier Subaru, presented Shaun Heffernan, Director, Camp Rising Sun, with a check for $33,239 this afternoon in the dealership's showroom in Branford. The donation represented the proceeds from the seventh annual "Share the Love" event, in which anyone that purchased or leased a new Subaru could make a $250 donation to one of four national charities - ASPCA, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Meals on Wheels Association of America, the National Park Foundation - or a fifth local charity for their customers to support. Premier Subaru selected Camp Rising Sun as their "hometown charity" for the 2014 campaign.

"Thanks to Bob Alvine and the entire Premier Subaru Team, we will be able to provide an awesome summer camp experience to even more kids with cancer," said Mr. Heffernan. "Being a small volunteer organization without a national sponsor, fundraising is always a challenge. Bob and his team's hard work will help put smiles on the faces of our campers this summer."

"I am honored to participate with such an organization. An organization that brings smiles to brave children and their families," remarked Mr. Alvine. "We are duly proud to have raised this money and deeply thank our customers and employees."

"Share the Love" ran from Nov. 20, 2014 to Jan. 2, 2015 and was expected to donate up to $15 million over the course of the campaign nationwide. In the last six years, Subaru of America has donated over $35 million to different charities. In 2013, Subaru of America gave dealers the option to add a local charity.

Camp Rising Sun was designed to provide a safe nurturing environment to children ages 5 through 17 who have been diagnosed with cancer. Camp Week takes place at Camp Jewell YMCA in Colebrook, CT. A number of "Senior Campers" have become "Leaders in Training" to help with the younger campers and plan activities. Camp Rising Sun has been around since 1983 and has grown to over 100 campers!

One former camper, Freddy Samoskevich, now one of the assistant directors, said, "The biggest part of Camp Rising Sun was the social aspect of it because when you're young, you're going through all kinds of things like hospitals and medication and it's really hard to make social connections, but (at camp) you can talk about catheters and chemotherapy and everyone would understand and was friends with you."

February 13, 2015 - Premier Subaru has just announced that they will return as sponsors for the 35th annual Branford Road Race.  Premier Subaru will have the official pace car and will have cars on the green.  This is a 5 mile race, plus there is a 2 mile walk and a 1 mile fun run.  The race attracts over 3,000 runners from all over and has been touted as one of Connecticut's most prominent fitness events.  The race also raises money for various charities, including the American Parkinson Disease Association, Branford Counseling Center, and the Soundview YMCA.

The event takes place Sunday, June 21, 2015.  Premier Subaru is not only providing the pace car, but will also be featured on banners, race bibs, and race t-shirts.  We hope to see you there!   be on all of the banners around Branford, have exposure on 3,500 race bibs, have an on-site display in front of 10,000 runners and spectators, ads in The Sound newspaper, mentions in all press releases, banner near the finish line and sponsorship on the race t-shirts.

The Branford Chorale thanks Premier Subaru Branford for their ad for their Winter 2014 and Spring 2015 Programs.  The Chorale presents a number of concerts including their "Christmas with the Chorale" Concert event, taking place December 6, 2014 at St. Therese Church, 105 Leetes Island Road, Branford.

Share the Love Event - November 2013

In the past five years Subaru of America has donated over $25 million to charities in its "Share the Love" campaign. For each car sold or leased Subaru donated $250 to the buyer's choice of five charities.

This year Subaru offered dealers the chance to keep the funds local by nominating a local charity to be a sixth choice for purchasers. Premier Subaru successfully added the Community Dining Room to the list and will actively support the cause.

Share the Love and keep it local by either buying a new car or donating to the "Share the Love - Feed a Neighbor" food drive or "Share the Love - Warm a Neighbor" Holiday gift clothing drive.

The 85th Anniversary Celebration of The Child and Family Guidance Center

Premier Subaru is proud to be a sponsor of the 85th Anniversary Celebration of The Child and Family Guidance Center of Greater Bridgeport.  The Agency started on September 1, 1925 with a staff of just a part time volunteer psychiatrist and a social worker, operating just a few days a week to tend to the needs of the residents of the City of Bridgeport.  Since then, the Agency has grown tremendously - operating 5 days a week with 20 client specific programs and treating over 2,500 adults and children each year struggling with mental illness.  It is a child centered, family focused and community based agency that offers a continuum of quality behavioral health services to children under the age of 18 and to all members of their families.  We appreciate the hard work of the Agency and are proud to participate as a sponsor of this event.
