IWC approves plans for new Subaru dealership
Plans for the new Subaru dealership were unanimously approved in Branford by the Inland Wetlands Commission (IWC).
Bob Alvine, our president and General Manager, says plans are moving forward to break ground this coming Spring. The plans now go to the Branford Planning and Zoning (P&Z) Commission for their review.
The new dealership will include a large service drive-through lane, express service, more than 30 service bays and a Subaru heritage museum. It would be built on two lots across the street from the existing dealership at 150 N. Main St. Two buildings at 155 and 165 N. Main will be torn down and replaced by the new facility. An office building at 175 N. Main St. will remain.

Premier Subaru fills the Forester for Ferals!
On December 3, 2016, Premier Subaru hosted its 7th annual Fill the Forester for Ferals event. This event is specifically designed to provide much needed food and supplies for the Greater New Haven Cat Project. The Greater New Haven Cat Project is a non-profit, volunteer-staffed organization whose purpose is to improve the lives of stray, abandoned, and feral cats in greater New Haven. They also have foster cats available for adoption. The Greater New Haven Cat Project was on hand from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. collecting unopened bags of dry cat food as well as boxes of canned cat food. Also on hand was Donna Velardi, an animal communicator and massage therapist who has promoted pet health and wellness, as well as clear up behavior issues and misunderstanding, through her use of communication and massage therapy, as well as Reiki and crystals. Premier KIA celebrates Grand Opening!
Premier Kia has just completed building a brand new 18,100 square foot Kia Branded Gallery Facility. This facility is the only Kia Gallery Facility in Connecticut and is located at 205 North Main Street in Branford, CT. KIA Niro sets Coast-to-coast Gas Mileage Record
The 2017 Kia Niro has officially been awarded a Guinness World Record title for the lowest fuel consumption driving across the USA from coast to coast in a hybrid car.
The Niro, designed to average as much as 50 miles per gallon, made the 3,715.4 mile journey from Los Angeles to New York City using only 4.1 tanks of gas, boasting an incredible 76.6 miles per gallon!
We're extremely pleased with the Niro's record-breaking perforamnce," said Orth Hedrick, vice president of product planning for Kia Motors America. "We set out to build a vehicle that offers real-world utility, great looks and fantastic mileage, and setting the Guinness World Record title confirms our achievement."
The Niro EX was driven by Wayne Gerdes of Carlsbad, California, and co-driver Robert Winger of Williamsburg, Virginia. The Niro is considered a Urban Crossover Hybrid Vehicle, and is the first dedicated Kia hybrid model. The Niro has a long list of features including an innovative hybrid system designed to provide a more dynamic and engaging driving experience; plenty of cabin room, plus features like available Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist and Lane Departure Warning; UVO3 with Apple CarPlay™, Android Auto™ and a 7-inch touch screen, available Smart Cruise Control, navigation and a Harman/Kardon® premium audio system.

Adorable Adoptable Animals
Every issue, we present the story of a pet at a local animal shelter near you, who is looking for his or her "forever home".
This is Ruby, a Hound/Labrador Retriever Mix, and she loves to play with other dogs. She is about 2 or 3 years old and is looking for her forever family. She likes and is liked by all the kids and people that come to the shelter. She admits to being overweight but "it just means there is more of me to love!"
