Want a 2015 Subaru Outback with Eyesight?
It seems like the new Eyesight feature is a hot seller - so hot in fact, that the only way to get one would be to order one. Even Consumer Reports itself had to order a Subaru Outback 3.6R Limited in order to take it out for an extended test-drive - but it was worth it.
Subaru's
suite of electronic safety aids includes a lot of capability, such as Forward-collision
warning, lane-departure warning, and automatic braking to avoid low-speed
collisions. EyeSight can warn when it
senses that you're nodding off based on steering patterns. It can even tell you to go if the car ahead of
you at a light drives off and you're still sitting there texting.
The new Outback 3.6R Limited with Eyesight starts at a
sticker price around $36,835, and you get a lot of additional equipment for the
dough, including Moonroof, Keyless Access and Start, and Navigation. For Consumer Reports' car, it wasn't that
much more than a 2006 Outback 3.0R VDC that test drove
brand-new, so the Outback really hasn't gone up that much in price in eight
years, but obtained a ton of other new and exciting features.

Subaru Legacy Receives Consumer Reports #1 Rating
It was announced on November 10 that the 2015
Subaru Legacy received Consumer Reports #1 rating for all mid-size Sedans. The December
2014 Consumer Reports issue
highlights this list, calling the Legacy the "Do-It-All Family Sedan".
Consumer Reports also announced that the 2015 Subaru Outback tied with
the Audi Allroad for Consumer Reports top-ranked Wagon,
Impressive considering that the Audi Allroad on average costs $15,000 to
20,000 more than the Outback.

Kia Motors awarded three Automotive Brand Contest Design Prizes
Kia Motors was
among the biggest winners of the Automotive Brand Contest 2014, an annual
international design competition
Run by the German
Design Council for automotive brands.
Kia won three total awards, including team of the year for

team run by Peter Schreyer, President and Chief Designer of Kia Motors, and
Exterior Volume Brand Winner for the Kia Soul.
According to
Schreyer, "First-Class Automobile Design doesn't happen by accident; it's the
product of a continous process

striving for a lively exchange of ideas, and by being open to influences

areas, is it possible to be really creative."
This
is the third major design award for the new Kia Soul, after the "Red Dot Award"
and the "IF product Design Award".

Can KIA make the Minivan cool? We give you the Sedona
The Minivan Segment has risen
about five to 10 percent in recent years, so KIA has revamped the Sedona for
2015.
The
redesigned Sedona by Peter Schreyer looks increasingly better than the outgoing
model and, arguably, much better than any competing models. Many design cues have been taken from
vehicles of the SUV type, including the mesh grille, 18 and 19 inch wheels, and
Xenon Headlights with LED accents and LED taillights, giving the Sedona a more
rugged feel, while still not entirely distancing itself from minivan.
The
3.3 Liter V6 has a 6-speed automatic, gets 276 horsepower, and most importantly
gets between 18 to 24 miles per gallon. Inside
the cabin are an 8 inch display screen, standard steering wheel controls, and
available heated and ventilated front seats to appeal to non-traditional
minivan buyers. These are just some of

Adorable Adoptable Animals
Every month, we highlight a pet that is in need of a good home in the Branford area.
This is Pumpkin. Pumpkin is an adorable chi/wired hair terrier mix that was abandoned near the Pine Orchard Country Club a few weeks ago. She just wants to be loved and adored. She has met some other dogs and has done really well. At first she appears to have a napolean complex but she gets over herself fairly quickly with big dogs.
